As quoted from the Salt Lake Tribune. “The Boise, Idaho-based memory chip maker had earlier announced that its $500 million deal with Intel Corp. to provide NAND-style flash memory for Apple‘s iPod line would spark its mostly mothballed plant to life in early 2007. But the company has been spared in its details on the scope or schedule for hiring. Micron spokesman Dan Francisco said that the postings, representing a potential 10% boost for the plant‘s work force of 500 memory testers, was just the beginning. The company will hint only that it could be in the hundreds, expected through the course of this year. “The number of employees who are hired…depends on market conditions and other variables,“ Francisco added. “That‘s the most appropriate answer I can give you at this point.”
Swedish home furnishings giant Ikea appears to have found a site for a new store in Draper near the intersection of Interstate 15 and Bangerter Highway. The worlds largest home furnishings retailer with more than $18 billion in sales a year has purchased nearly 40 acres of prime commercial property with freeway visibility at approximately 13350 S. Pony Express.
St. Marks hospital announced the name of their new hospital with an expected completion of Fall 2007. St. Mark‘s Lone Peak Hospital will be located at 11900 South State Street in Draper. The facility will open with 60 beds and has the ability to expand to 108 beds as needed.
